Season One Master Post Season Two Master Post Season Three (All links lead to AnchorFM and YouTube) This season marks the introduction of the news reporter character, A.G. Marie. Episode 1: "Stepin is a Father" The Afro American announced the birth of Stepin Fetchit's first child in 1930. Episode 2: "Bojangles Shot - Oct. 1930" In 1930, it was reported that Bill "Bojangles" Robinson was mistakenly shot by police as he tried to chase a purse snatcher. Episode 3: "The Jinxed Set" Did you know that three major actors suffered injuries on the set of Cabin in the Sky (1943)? Episode 4: "Ethel Waters' Study" One may notice that when they read articles on classic Black entertainers' homes, there was always an emphasis on what their studies and libraries looked like. Episode 5: "Lena Horne as Lorna Dean" Audiences and critics were elated to tune into a radio program that featured a Black character whose race wasn't central to their storyline. This episode of Suspense starred Lena Horne. Episode 6: "The Sugar Hill Case" During the Great Depression, Black entertainers and entrepreneurs like Mr. and Mrs. Somerville (founders of The Dunbar Hotel), Hattie McDaniel, and Louise Beavers bought homes in Los Angeles' dying West Adams district. They revived the residential community, making it a vibrant place to live and visit once more. Then, in 1945, some of the districts' senior white residents fought to kick them out. Episode 7: "The Regal Theater in Durham" The Regal Theater in Durham, North Carolina was one of many theaters established specifically for Black audiences throughout the country. In 1930, it became one of the first theaters (possibly the first) to add a sound system. Episode 8: "Let THEM Tell It" In 1944, The Afro American blasted five major movie studios for omitting footage of Black soldiers from their newsreels. Episode 9: "Augusta Savage's Mysterious Trophy" In 1940, The Afro American reported that sculptor, Augusta Savage, was commissioned to create a trophy for the Council for Better Negro Motion Pictures. Episode 10: "Ollie Goes to Hollywood"

Coming up in the same American entertainment period of trailblazers like Bert Williams, George Walker, and Aida Overton Walker, Olga "Ollie" Burgoyne appeared in at least one Hollywood film and is believed to have worked behind-the-scenes in others. Episode 11: "A Story of Unity" Hear the sweet story of how Allen "Farina" Hoskins got his start in the film industry. Episode 12: "Crime in the Sky" Cabin in the Sky is now mostly loved as an iconic work in Black Cinema history. At the time of its release, however, not everyone felt so fondly about it. Starting with episode thirteen, we "formally introduced" A.G. Marie and began sharing a visual version of the Kindaris Pictures Podcast. Episode 13: "The Other Migration" Audio | Video (YouTube) In this episode, "A.G. Marie" shares news of Nina Mae McKinney's sixteen-week tour of Europe in 1936. She'd made Paris her home just a few years after the release of HALLELUJAH (1929). Episode 14: "Etta, Vivian, and Dorothy" Audio | Video (YouTube) In mid-April of 1939, The Afro American spent some time with The Dandridge Sisters (actual sisters, Vivian and Dorothy Dandridge, and friend, Etta Jones) after an engagement at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. Episode 15: "Mother's Day Special" (Season Finale) Audio | Video (YouTube) For the season three finale of the Kindaris Pictures Podcast, Adrienne M. Warren (A.G. Marie) sat down with her mother to talk classic movies!
